The square crimping allows better contact. The hexagonal crimping comes very close to the space-saving round shape. Compared with the square crimping, it has the same cross-section and can make optimum contact in narrow round terminal connectors. With both crimping shapes the often tricky feeding into the terminal connection is no longer necessary.
